Witht he transfer window open, Tony Pulis has one primary target signing. He had assured fans that he is "doing his damnest" to keep on-loan midfielder Jason Jarrett at Home Park for the long-term.
What with injuries and a key playmaker leaving for the African Nations Cup, Norwich City manager has said that he needs to recall Jarrett as cover.
However, JJ has since settled in the Argyle side and the Plymouth Evening Herald have reported that he would rather stay in the Westcountry than return to the Canaries. "I have heard they are going to call me back but we will have to see," said the former Wigan man to an local East Anglian newspaper. ""All I want to do is play football and if Plymouth give me the opportunity I'm not going to say no", he added, "I don't want to go to Norwich and not play".
Jarrett insisted he was "loving it at Argyle" and said that while remained contracted to Norwich, he had still a helped the team through some tough times.
Despite Pulis' best efforts, it appears that Nigel Worthington will not allow Plymouth to keep Jarrett for any longer. So it depends on how keen Pulis is on bringing Jason to Plymouth permantly and what he'll have to do persuade Norwich to part with their exiled summer signing.
Factors in Argyle's favour are that Jarrett would rather stay than return to Carrow Road and "rot in the reserves". Hence, he is out-of-favour - why not check out the NORWICH and ARGYLE Messageboards to hear the opinions of Norwich fans who generally do not regard his abilities very highly.
This leads me to believe that Pulis may consider offering a swap deal proposal for Nigel Worthington, plus cash. This may be the only alternative for Pulis who, with no defined allowance for transfer fees, may exchange an unfavoured midfielder at Home Park in a deal to try and tempt Norwich into selling.
