Plymouth Argyle could be forced into administration by Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs following a hearing at the High Court, BBC Sport understands.HMRC are concerned that unless they appoint their own administrator they could lose out on money owed to them by the club.
Plymouth issued a 'notice of intention' to appoint the P&A Partnership as administrators last week.
The club's board are meeting on Friday to discuss possible options.
