Argyle Sign Mendes

The 27-year-old centre-back, who has been training with Argyle, has signed on a free transfer having been released by Santa Clara at the end of the Portugese season.

"He is a dominant central defender and can also play in a defensive midfield role," Argyle manager Bobby Williamson told the club's official website.

"His versatility could be a real asset, as he can also play anywhere across the back four."
