West Brom defender Martis limped off with a torn hamstring in Rovers' 1-1 draw against Watford last weekend and is likely to be out for six weeks so he has returned to his parent club with Sam Hird set to step in.

Bristol City striker Brooker, who scored as a second-half substitute on his debut at Vicarage Road, has picked up a calf injury and has returned to Ashton Gate for treatment.

O'Driscoll is also without striker James Hayter (medial knee ligaments) until the new year while Jos Van Nieuwstadt (hamstring) and

Sean McDaid (knee) are both long-term absentees.

Adam Lockwood could be in contention after he stepped up his return from a recent back injury but Gordon Greer (groin) is still doubtful.

Plymouth striker Emile Mpenza has been ruled out of the trip.

The former Manchester City striker suffered a hamstring injury during the 2-1 home defeat to Blackpool last weekend, which ended Argyle's four-match unbeaten run.

The injury is not likely to keep the Belgium international out for a long period, but he is not fit enough to make the trip to South

Yorkshire, meaning that boss Paul Sturrock will be forced to change his starting line-up, with Steve MacLean coming into contention along with wingers Craig Noone and Jamie Mackie.

Injured right-back David McNamee is also set to miss the trip although he hopes to return to training next week, while skipper Karl Duguid (calf) remains sidelined.
