Stags forced into defensive changes
Mansfield must make changes in defence for the visit of Plymouth.
Centre-half John Dempster begins a three-match suspension following his red card in the goalless draw at Bury while left-back James Jennings will serve a one-game ban after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season against the Shakers on Tuesday night.
With Martin Riley out for a month with the Achilles injury he suffered in midweek, summer signing John McCombe is likely to make his first appearance since the Capital One Cup defeat at Tranmere on August 6.
Manager Paul Cox will hope Ryan Tafazolli can return to fitness following his recent absence, while Ritchie Sutton is another option at the back.
Plymouth boss John Sheridan is hopeful of adding a new striker to boost his goal-shy squad before the trip.
Argyle are the lowest scorers in Sky Bet League Two, with just eight goals in 13 games, while Tuesday's 0-0 draw with Newport means they have netted just twice in the last seven matches.
But Sheridan is waiting for a phone call from the available forward who he believes would give his side a real lift and the former Chesterfield boss is optimistic a deal could be arranged in time.
Sheridan named an attacking line-up against the Exiles and Lewis Alessandra and Andrew Blackman will hope to keep their places having started ahead of Durrell Berry and Jamie Reckord.
