The PFA paid part of the players' November wages, contributing a loan of up to ?5000 for each player.
Chairman Gordon Taylor said: "We've already helped out and we need to look at the situation again for the future."
The PFA first got involved at Home Park last year when they were contacted by Pilgrims goalkeeper Romain Larrieu, the club's PFA representative.
Taylor told BBC Spotlight: "We've been in touch with the club and the players for some time now and have been keeping abreast of the situation."
Although the club's players remain unpaid for January, office staff at Home Park have received their wage packets.
Taylor said: "We're probably going to be going down there soon, looking to see if we can help.
"They're one of the few clubs in the South West and we want to do all we can to make sure they survive."
A spokesman from Plymouth Argyle told the BBC that the club itself has not approached the PFA for help, and is still working on ways to bring the players wages up to date themselves.
