A statement onthe club's official website reads: "The Plymouth Argyle board of directors is delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Pulis as the club's new manager.
"Tony is an excellent, proven, manager with a wealth of experience who the board feels has precisely the right qualities to ensure the club continues the fine progress it has made in recent seasons.
"He will be assisted by David Kemp, who many Argyle fans will remember fondly from his past associations with the club."
A press conference has been announced to confirm Pulis' appointment on Monday morning.
