Argyle were 2-0 up after 15 minutes thanks to two Joe Mason strikes, but in-between had Curtis Nelson dismissed. The Terriers came back through a Kari Arnason own goal and a Jordan Rhodes strike before Peter Clarke won it. The Pilgrims then had Stephane Zubar dismissed to add to manager Reid who had been sent to the stands.
Reid said of his own dismissal: "I was only speaking to one of my players. All I'll say is he isn't the best referee I've seen."
On the sending off of Nelson he added: "Something similar happened a few minutes earlier involving a Huddersfield player but nothing happened. It's the inconsistencies which are frustrating."
Reid said of the game: "There was plenty of spirit. Mason ran himself into the ground. I had to take him off because he was exhausted.
"He's a terrific young talent but we're having to nurse him a bit. He's only slight and could do with opening up. We conceded three very poor goals, but I'm happy with our overall performance."
