Peter Reid has moved to quash reports that Plymouth have made an unsuccessful bid for Rotherham striker Adam Le Fondre. In a story in Tuesday morning's Yorkshire Post, Rotherham chairman Tony Stewart claimed to have rejected a deal "in seconds" for Le Fondre from Argyle, which involved Rory Fallon moving in the opposite direction. When asked whether he had made an offer, Reid told Plymouth's official website: "No we didn't. I would find it remarkable that the Plymouth manager doesn't know about an offer being made." A Rotherham club spokesman confirmed to Press Association Sport that no bid had been received for Le Fondre. Meanwhile, defender Jim Paterson is back in training with Argyle after failing to agree a move to Greek club Kavala. "I don't think the deal in Greece came up to his standard," Reid said.
