The keeper is on loan from Fulham and will now stay at least for one month. His loan cannot be extended for the season but if agreed it could go ito a 3rd month keeping him at Home Park until the latter stages of April.
"David is returning for one month, and we're trying to roll it on from that," the head coach revealed. Mariner also thanked Fulham manager Roy Hodgson and goalkeeping coach Mike Kelly – who had a spell as Argyle boss 33 years ago – for their help in sorting out Stockdale's continued stay in Devon.
"We're happy with what Roy and his staff have sorted out for us," Mariner said. "We have a fantastic rapport with Roy and Mike Kelly, who is his mentor. Mike speaks very highly of him, and we're very thankful to them for letting him out."
