With the scores level at 1-1 approaching the final five minutes of the opening Championship encounter at The Madejski stadium, Williamson substituted first half scorer Mickey Evans with Chadwick and the former Manchester United winger duly obliged by snatching a winner for Argyle in stoppage-time.

"It was inspired, but in reality I only did it to waste time," Williamson said after the game.

"Nick had done well in training and it was a disappointment for him to be starting on the bench, but if he keeps scoring goals he will keep his place.

"It's nice for our fans to see an away win. They travel huge distances and this will send them back happy."
