"We knew what we wanted to do when we came here and we've done that, but it was certainly very hard work," he said after the game.
"I'm delighted to have the three points because nobody has beaten Wigan this season. We got the breaks on the day that gave us the three points.
"If we can nullify their attack, then we have a good chance of doing it against most teams in this division, but we can't get carried away with just one result."
