York V Plymouth at Bootham Crescent - Match Preview

Obadeyi in frame for Argyle start

Plymouth could hand a full debut to loanee Tope Obadeyi at York as they look to solve their goalscoring issues.

The Bury loanee made his Pilgrims bow in the 0-0 draw at Lincoln last Saturday as a second-half substitute and caught the eye of manager John Sheridan, who believes the 24-year-old is one of the quickest players he has ever coached.

And with Argyle having mustered just 10 league goals in their first 15 matches this season Obadeyi will hope to be given the nod to face the Minstermen.

Defensively Argyle are unlikely to make changes having not conceded a goal in their last four matches, a run which has edged them away from danger at the foot of League Two.

York will be without Josh Carson and Ryan Brobbel.

Brobbel, on loan from Middlesbrough, and fellow midfielder Carson are both on international duty with the Northern Ireland Under-21s squad, while winger Sander Puri is struggling with a hamstring strain sustained in the FA Cup draw at Bristol Rovers last week.

Defender David McGurk (hamstring) and midfielder Lewis Montrose (groin), who have missed the last three and two matches respectively, are expected to be back in contention.

Manager Nigel Worthington could be tempted to start with three strikers - Ryan Jarvis, Wes Fletcher and Ryan Bowman - in the absence of wide players Brobbel and Puri.
