Dag Red 2-3 Plymouth- Report

Last updated : 15 October 2011 By DSG

Plymouth captain Simon Walton scored a last-minute penalty to earn his side their first away win of the season - a 3-2 victory at Dagenham.

With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Dagenham defender Damien McCrory was sent off for a foul on Issac Vassell in the 90th minute and Walton held his nerve to snatch the points.

Teenager Matt Lecointe lit up a dull first half with his first goal for the club on 20 minutes.

The 26-year-old fired in Ladjie Soukouna's low cross to give his side a precious half-time lead.

Soon after the break Plymouth doubled their advantage, when Conor Hourihane spectacularly volleyed in his first goal for the Pilgrims on 52 minutes.

But six minutes later Daggers were back in the game when Scott Doe headed McCrory's corner past keeper Jake Cole, and on 68 minutes the home side were level. Another McCrory corner was headed in at the far post by Jon Nurse.

But the visitors had the final say, when Walton blasted home from 12 yards to win the match.
