Substitute Nathan Lowndes scored with his first touch after coming on as a substitute to give Plymouth victory against Wycombe on the final day of the season.
The striker, who had not scored since the opening day of the season, clipped David Norris's low cross into the net 15 minutes from time, 60 seconds after coming on.
With neither side troubled by promotion or relegation issues Argyle were able to field Tony Capaldi, a trialist from Birmingham City, who was incredibly playing his fourth game in a week.
Left-winger Capaldi turned out for Blues' reserves on Monday and Wednesday and also played for Plymouth's second string on Thursday, but showed few signs of fatigue.
Argyle's French Midfielder David Friio came closest to breaking a deadlocked first half when he crashed a shot against the angle just before the interval following good work by Ian Stonebridge.
The Pilgrims cranked up their efforts in the second half and were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when Wycombe defender Chris Vinnicombe looked to have handled David Norris' cross.
Capaldi hit the post with a left-foot drive after being set up by Ian Stonebridge, before Stonebridge himself saw an effort brilliantly turned away by goalkeeper Frank Talia.
That was before Lowndes made his dramatic contribution, to the delight of a crowd of over 10,000.
Wycombe responded with a powerful header by Roger Johnson, following Danny Senda's cross that narrowly cleared the Plymouth crossbar.
At the other end Talia prevented Lowndes from doubling the home side's lead with a spectacular flying save from a curling long range shot.
