David Friio's last-minute goal rescued a point for injury-hit Plymouth Argyle after Brighton had looked like leaving Home Park with a victory.
Argyle seemed out of it when Leon Knight put the visitors 3-1 up with his fifth goal in five games - a lead they held until the 81st minute.
Then Ian Stonebridge headed the home side back into things and, with a minute of normal time remaining, substitute Blair Sturrock's persistence led to the ball breaking to Friio, who claimed his second equaliser in successive games.
Indeed, Argyle might have pinched all three points in injury-time, when Lee Hodges let fly with a 30-yard drive, but the ball smacked off goalkeeper Ben Roberts' post.
Brighton will point to a controversial moment shortly after Knight's goal when Argyle captain Paul Wotton fouled Darius Henderson with the Brighton striker clean through on goal.
Henderson stayed up, but failed to convert his opportunity, and referee Mick Fletcher gave Wotton only a yellow card.
An unfortunate own goal by teenage defender Paul Connolly had put Argyle on the back foot early on, and though Graham Coughlan levelled almost immediately, Guy Butters and Knight were allowed to give Brighton a two-goal cushion.
